"As he explains in Cooking Vegetarian, he left the restaurant and hotel industry because he grew increasingly uncomfortable preparing rich and fatty foods – his own father died of a massive heart attack at age 50 – and now advocates a more healthful way of eating."

Cooking Vegetarian has received international recognition from health professionals and the general public alike. Plant-based diets are gaining the respect of health organizations, national governments, and the medical establishment. Dietitians, physicians, scientific experts, and the general public acknowledge that a diet centered on animal products has been proven to be linked with chronic disease. As our personal health becomes more and more important to us, it's clear that vegetarian eating is not a passing fad but a preference that's here to stay.
